Odborníci varují před rezistencí bakterií vůči antibiotikům. Chybují lékaři, kteří je přepisují hlava nehlava, ale i pacienti, kteří si na virózu ordinují zbytky balení po babičce.

Bakterií odolných vůči většině antibiotik stále přibývá a někteří odborníci již delší dobu varují před dalším nadužíváním těchto léků. Je ovšem poněkud pokrytecké, že na problém upozorňují při příležitosti Evropského antibiotického dne i instituce, do jejichž kompetence problematika spadá a už ji dávno mohly ovlivnit – Ministerstvo zdravotnictví (MZ) ve spolupráci s Ministerstvem zemědělství (MZe), Kanceláří Světové zdravotnické organizace v ČR (WHO) a Státním zdravotním ústavem (SZÚ) – a zodpovědnost přenášejí zejména na pacienty. Antibiotika jsou u nás pouze na lékařský předpis a snad by to měl být na prvním místě lékař, kdo je schopen zodpovědně posoudit, zda pacient antibiotika skutečně nezbytně potřebuje.

Antibiotika

Jsou léky, které působí specificky proti bakteriím a měly by být lékařem předepisovány pouze na léčbu bakteriální infekce. Jsou vázány na lékařský předpis a pacienti by je rozhodně neměli užívat bez lékařského dohledu (například pokud zbudou z předcházející léčby doma).

Toto však evidentně neplatí, antibiotika se často píší hlava nehlava, proto nezbývá, než aby se i lidé sami zajímali o to, jaká farmaka jim zdravotníci předepisují. A aby je užívali správně. Množství užívaných antibiotik mohou lidé také ovlivnit prevencí a minimalizováním nebezpečí infekce, čili prostě a jednoduše snahou vůbec neonemocnět. Tak to alespoň vidí hlavní hygienik ČR Vladimír Valenta, podle něhož je nezbytné nejenom snížit spotřebu antibiotik a vrátit se k základním lékům: „Stejně tak je nutné nezapomínat na hygienu rukou, která je jedním ze základních kroků v prevenci infekcí.“

Jak vzniká rezistence

Užíváním v neopodstatněných případech (např. běžná viróza a chřipka) či nesprávným způsobem (nedoužívání celého balení, špatný časový režim) může vzniknout rezistence neboli odolnost bakterií na antibiotika a příští léčba pak již nemusí být účinná.
To se však netýká pouze těch, kteří antibiotika užívají, ale doslova každého z nás. Rezistentní kmeny si totiž můžeme předávat vzájemně a některé bakterie dokonce mohou „informaci“ vedoucí k získání odolnosti vůči antibiotikům získat od jiných bakterií.

Lékárníci radí, jak zacházet s antibiotiky

Do týdenní kampaně za rozumné užívání antibiotik se zapojila i Česká lékárnická komora. Do pátku 23. listopadu tak má každý z nás možnost informovat se o rizicích spojených s užíváním antibiotik v jakékoliv lékárně v ČR. Lékárníci připravili několik jednoduchých bodů pro správné zacházení s antibiotiky:

Kdy užívat antibiotika?

  • Antibiotika jsou účinná pouze proti bakteriálním infekcím – nemohou vás vyléčit z infekcí, které jsou způsobeny viry, jako je běžné nachlazení nebo chřipka.
  • Antibiotika nezabrání virům, aby se šířily na další osoby.
  • Užívání antibiotik z nesprávných důvodů, jako například proti nachlazení nebo chřipce, pro vás nemá žádný užitek.
  • Zneužívání antibiotik vede pouze k tomu, že se bakterie stanou odolnými vůči antibiotické léčbě, takže pokud budete vy nebo vaše děti potřebovat antibiotika někdy v budoucnosti, nemusejí již účinkovat.
  • Při užívání antibiotik se mohou objevit vedlejší účinky, jako například průjem.
  • Užívejte pouze antibiotika předepsaná vaším lékařem. 

Jak užívat antibiotika?

Pokud lékař rozhodl, že antibiotika jsou nezbytná, je velice důležité, aby byla užívána správně a zodpovědně.

  • Užívejte antibiotika pouze tehdy, předepíše-li je lékař.
  • Dodržujte rady lékaře a lékárníka jak antibiotika užívat, aby mohla zůstat účinná i do budoucna.
  • Užívejte antibiotika po dobu, kterou lékař určil, a dodržujte časový režim užívání.
  • Neuchovávejte zbytky antibiotik. Pokud vám během užívání lékař změnil lék, poraďte se s lékárníkem, jak zbylé léčivé přípravky zlikvidovat. Nikdy je nelikvidujte sami, lékárník zajistí jejich odbornou likvidaci.

Proč užívat antibiotika zodpovědně?

Zbytečné nebo nesprávné užívání antibiotik může způsobit, že bakterie získají odolnost proti antibiotikům. To je zdravotní riziko nejen pro osobu, která antibiotika nevhodně užívala, ale také pro kohokoliv dalšího, kdo se může touto odolnou bakterií následně nakazit.

  • Antimikrobiální rezistence (odolnost) je schopnost bakterie odolávat účinku antibiotika.
  • Za posledních 5 let se účinnost antibiotik v důsledku rostoucí odolnosti bakterií vůči antibiotické léčbě významně snížila.
  • Jakékoliv použití antibiotika způsobí buď zahubení bakterie, nebo se mu bakterie přizpůsobí a stane se vůči němu odolná.
  • Lidé ani zvířata se nestávají odolnými vůči antimikrobiální léčbě, ale bakterie a další mikroorganismy odolnost získat mohou.
  • Antibiotická rezistence má za následek snížení nebo ztrátu účinnosti antibiotika při léčbě infekce způsobené touto bakterií.

Projekt Antibiotický týden v prostředí lékáren je doprovodnou akcí celoevropského projektu Evropský antibiotický den, který se koná již pátým rokem. Projekt České lékárnické komory vznikl za podpory Státního zdravotního ústavu, Farmaceutické fakulty VFU v Brně, Mladých lékárníků a Světové zdravotnické organizace.
