Jarní prázdniny v zahraničí: Kdy pomůže kartička pojištěnce a na co už nestačí

Jarní prázdniny lákají k cestování. Obzvláště pokud jsou v tuzemsku chudé na sníh jako letos. Jak ale zařídit, abyste měli co nejméně starostí, pokud v zahraničí přijde úraz?

Všeobecná zdravotní pojišťovna (VZP) zkraje jarních prázdnin připomněla, jaká rizika pokrývá průkaz pojištěnce a na co už nestačí. Pravidla jsou platná i pro klienty jiných zdravotních pojišťoven.

Na základě kartičky pojištěnce (správně Evropského průkazu zdravotního pojištění známého také pod zkratkou EHIC) vám bude v zemích EU, Evropského hospodářského prostoru a ve Švýcarsku poskytnuta nezbytná zdravotní péče na účet vaší zdravotní pojišťovny, uvádí pojišťovna na webu.

Co pojišťovna zaplatí i za hranicemi

Co konkrétně to znamená? Že v některých zahraničních zdravotních zařízeních vás ošetří i bez toho, abyste museli vytahovat peněženku či platební kartu nebo jste museli být komerčně připojištění. Stačí mít běžnou kartičku pojištěnce. 

Platí to ale jen pro tzv. nezbytnou zdravotní péči. Tedy třeba pro případ, kdy se na dovolené zraníte nebo onemocníte. Ale už ne pro případ, kdy do zahraničí kvůli operaci či ošetření plánujete vycestovat.

Co je nezbytná péče?

Za nezbytnou zdravotní péči je považována zdravotní péče, kterou z lékařského hlediska vyžaduje zdravotní stav pacienta. Péče musí být poskytnuta v takovém rozsahu, aby pacient nemusel odcestovat ze zahraničí dříve, než zamýšlel. O konkrétním rozsahu a způsobu poskytnutí péče rozhoduje místní ošetřující lékař.

Co není nezbytná péče?

Naopak nejde o takovou zdravotní péči, za kterou by pojištěnec přímo vycestoval, nebo o péči, kterou by zdravotní stav pojištěnce nevyžadoval (např. preventivní prohlídky, plánovaná operace).

Zdravotní péče vám ale bude poskytnuta pouze po předložení platné kartičky pojištěnce a pouze ve zdravotnickém zařízení (nemocnice, klinika, ordinace) financovaném z veřejných zdrojů. Tedy v takovém, které je zapojeno do tamějšího systému veřejného zdravotního pojištění. Někdy to tedy nemusí být lékař, který je neblíže po ruce.

Pokud vás třeba sanitka odveze jinam a nejste komerčně připojištěni, budete si muset péči zaplatit ze svého a o proplacení žádat zdravotní pojišťovnu až po návratu do vlasti. Musíte se ale připravit na to, že budete předkládat doklady k úhradě i poskytnuté zdravotní péči. Proto si je všechny pečlivě uschovejte. Navíc pojišťovna bude vaše nároky posuzovat ve správním řízení, které nějakou dobu potrvá. Aby začalo, musíte sami aktivně podat žádost o refundaci nákladů.Pokud je pojišťovna uzná, proplatí vám jen tolik peněz, kolik by za péči zaplatila pacientovi v ČR.

Na co EHIC nestačí

Běžná kartička pojištěnce ovšem nepokrývá některé služby spojené s ošetřením nebo poplatky. U poplatků vám pojišťovna neuhradí takové, které ze svého platí i místní pacienti. Jde tedy třeba o regulační poplatek, poplatek za recept či hospitalizaci, poplatek za návštěvu lékaře nebo za předepsané léky a podobně. Míra toho, co je zpoplatněno pro pacienta, se v jednotlivých zemích liší.

Tuzemská pojišťovna vám neproplatí také některé typy dopravy. VZP konkrétně jmenuje přepravu pacienta zpět do tuzemska (někdy probíhá letecky za asistence zdravotníka), repatriaci ostatků (v případě, že pojištěnec v zahraničí zemře), zásah horské služby nebo transport zraněného vrtulníkem. Což je situace, která může běžně nastat v případě třeba zranění při lyžování v Alpách.

V situaci, na které je EHIC krátká, pomůže komerční cestovní pojištění. Při jeho uzavírání je dobré myslet na to, jaké sporty v zahraničí budeme provozovat, a případně si připojistit ty rizikové. 

Ale pozor, pokud se zraníte třeba na sjezdovce, která je uzavřena nebo se úraz stane pod vlivem alkoholu, nemusí vám ani komerční pojištění pomoci a péči si budete muset hradit ze svého. U dětí si dávejte pozor také na používání přilby, které je často povinné.

Pro případ, že na lyžích způsobíte zranění někomu jinému či škodu na výbavě, je dobré myslet také na připojištění odpovědnosti. Např. v Itálii je již dva roky pro lyžaře povinné.
